Messianic613’s weblog is a Torah Reseach Center based on faith in Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ). Its goal is to study all the aspects of the relation between being a Messianic believer and a lifestyle of Torah observance, including the issues of Jewish and Gentile identity. In particular it wants to engage in systematic and scholarly discussions on those subjects that continue to divide the world of Messianic Judaism. A primary objective is to give a fair weight to all the arguments involved in these discussions and to critically analyse their tenability, and the tenability of the background considerations of positions held by the diverse Messianic communities and ministries. Our ultimate sources of authority are the Holy Scriptures of the Tanach (Old Testament) and the B’rith HaChadashah (New Testament).

About comments

The main objective of our articles is to study all controversial issues and hitherto unsolved problems of Messianic Jewish theology. Readers are welcome to give comments on these articles, and to raise questions on specific points. Only those comments will be published, however, that meet the common scholarly qualities of conciseness, readability and clarity. A comment must of course be relevant to the subject matter of the article to which it is related. Discussion and debate by means of commenting will only be permitted within certain limits, to keep matters surveyable for the readers of this weblog. In this we adhere to the usual standards of academic journals.

Messianic613’s weblog is een op het geloof in Yeshua HaMashiach (Jezus Christus) gebaseerd Centrum voor Torah onderzoek. Het doel van de blog is om alle aspecten te bestuderen van de relatie tussen een Messiasbelijdend geloof en een levenstijl van gehoorzaamheid aan de Torah, inbesloten de daarmee verbonden vraagstukken rond de joodse en de niet-joodse identiteit. In het bijzonder wil deze blog zich begeven op het gebied van de systematische en wetenschappelijke discussie over die onderwerpen die de wereld van het Messiasbelijdende Jodendom verdeeld houden. Ons primaire streven is om de houdbaarheid van alle argumenten die figureren in deze discussie af te wegen en kritisch te analyseren, benevens de houdbaarheid van de achtergrondoverwegingen van stellingnames van de diverse Messiasbelijdende gemeenschappen en bedieningen. Wij beschouwen de Heilige Schriften van de Tenach (Oude Testament) en het B’rith HaChadasha (Nieuwe Testament) als onze uiteindelijk gezaghebbende bronnen.

Over comments

Het hoofddoel van onze artikelen is het bestuderen van alle controversiële en tot nog toe onopgeloste problemen van de messiasbelijdende joodse theologie. Lezers worden verwelkomd om hun commentaar te geven op specifieke onderwerpen. Echter, alleen die commentaren zullen worden gepubliceerd, welke beantwoorden aan de algemene academische kwaliteiten van beknoptheid, leesbaarheid en duidelijkheid. Een comment moet natuurlijk relevant zijn voor het onderwerp waaraan deze is gerelateerd. Discussie en debat door middel van het plaatsen van comments zal alleen in beperkte mate worden toegestaan, teneinde de zaken overzichtelijk te houden voor de lezers van deze weblog. Wat dit betreft houden we ons aan de gebruikelijke normen van wetenschappelijke tijdschriften.
